In an earlier post I spoke about the importance of Search Engine Optimization and speficially focused on two very popular WordPress plugins Platinum SEO Pack and All in One SEO Pack. This post on the other hand gives a more general overview of the variety of different plugins that are available for SEO.
SEO friendly images : – This might not sound like something you need if you don’t have that many images on your blog, but optimizing every aspect of your blog no matter how big or how small is key to getting your blog where it can be seen and remembered. As a case study, I recently started a new blog, which after only two months already received more than 30 000 hits per month, 85% of those being from image views which then convert to further views.
Description : “SEO Friendly Images automatically adds alt and title attributes to all your images. Improves traffic from search engines and makes the image tags W3C.”
Simple Tags :
Tags provide a way for your visitors and the search engines to decide what your posts are about and where they can be found. It also serves as a way for interlinking posts on your blog or setting up related posts lists. With Simple Tags you are presented with a list of tag suggestions which you can simply click and insert where you need them.
“Simple Tags is THE perfect tool to manage perfectly your WP 3.0 tags (Tags suggestion, Mass Edit Terms (Tags and Category), Auto link tags, Ajax Autoc”.
WP Super Cache :
If caching is something unfamiliar to you, don’t worry, WP Super Cache is pretty straight forward if you stay out of the advanced area. Caching basically takes your WordPress pages and/or blog posts, that would normally be generated every time someone visits it, and turns it into static pages. This means that when someone visits that page it is already available in all its glory and because it does not have to be generated again it loads much quicker and puts less strain on your server. And quick load times mean better SEO.
“A very fast caching engine for WordPress that produces static html files.”
